Mavriky Kalugin, born in Nikolaevsk, Alaska, has 25 years of experience in the oil and gas industry worldwide, has deep competencies in the management of production and service companies, development of new fields and optimization of production in mature oil and gas fields.
Prior to joining Naftogaz of Ukraine, Mavriky Kalugin has been working in Ukrnafta for five years as an advisor to the chairman of the executive board, deputy chairman of the board, executive vice president for production and processing.
The new approaches proposed by Mavriky Kalugin have helped Ukrnafta stabilise hydrocarbon production despite small investment programmes.
Previously, Mavriky Kalugin held senior positions in companies such as Petrofac, Cairn India, BP, TNK-BP, Occidental Petroleum, ConocoPhillips, and ARCO. Mr. Kalugin educated at the University of Idaho (USA). He is a US citizen.
